So quite a while ago now I put up a link here for the upcoming Three Musketeers film, and now, that film is finally out.
I had the pleasure of going to see it last night and it was absolutely brilliant. It was actually better than I thought it was going to be, and if you read my previous post, you will know just how excited I was for it.
Matthew MacFadyen was, as expected, absolutely amazing and stunning :)
Orlando Bloom on the other hand, was bizarre. His hair, his ‘British’ accent and even his acting was completely off. I remember reading an interview by him a few weeks ago, where he was saying that he wanted to get rid of his pretty boy image since having a son, and that he wanted to be recognised as a serious actor. If this is true, then unfortunately Orli, you failed! I was actually quite excited to see him play a bad guy in the Musketeers film, but he was, in all honesty, a complete let down, and I think a different actor would have been much better. Now I never thought I’d see the day where I was saying Orlando Bloom should not be in a film. I still adore you Orli, but just not in this film.
Other than that, the film was seriously amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Alexandre Dumas’ stories, or action films in general. Also, one thing I was really surprised by in the film, is the 3D effects. I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two in 3D and that was the first film I’d ever seen in the newest 3D style, ie. not with red and blue glasses on, but to be honest, it was a bit of a let down. In Harry Potter, there were only a few moments were the 3D effects were actually used for any good reason, and so I was bit unsure about seeing another 3D film as I found it also hurt my eyes the first time. But for the Three Musketeers, this was completely different. The fight scenes were amazing, the air scenes were beautiful, even just regular people walking around looked so much better. I don’t know if the two films were filmed differently maybe, to highlight the 3D element, but the Musketeers film definitely made me realise that 3D could be cool.
All in all, please go see this film. It is unbelievably funny, and lovely, and exciting, and just generally amazing :)
That is all.
